Pediatric Cardiology Electrophysiologist

|
University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a pediatric cardiologist with expertise in diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology. The individual will be joining another pediatric electrophysiologist. The Division is comprised of twelve faculty and five Advanced Practice Providers and provides sub-specialty care in ACHD, EP, heart failure/transplant, imaging and intervention. The electrophysiology program performs up to 200 procedures/year including diagnostic and interventional procedures (using advanced 3D mapping), device implantation and lead extraction. We have an active ACGME accredited cardiology fellowship program. Patient care will occur at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, University Hospital and Clinics and affiliated community sites. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Cardiology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a pediatrician specializing in cardiac electrophysiology.

Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent
|
Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics, or equivalent
|
Board certified or eligible Pediatric Cardiology
|
License or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
|
Completion of one-year subspecialty training in Pediatric Electrophysiology Fellowship, or at least three years’ experience performing invasive pediatric electrophysiology procedures
|
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the work environment

Desirable qualifications:
|
Interest and/or expertise in cardiac electrophysiology
|
Clinical experience in pediatric cardiology in an academic setting
|
Experience in patient-oriented research
|
Teaching competence in pediatrics for medical students and residents
|
Evidence of scholarly activity
|
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
|
