The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, CO, is seeking a Pediatric Electrophysiologist to join our Heart Institute based at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
|
The Electrophysiology Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado is the largest congenital electrophysiology service in the Rocky Mountain Region and the candidate will join four faculty members (Drs. Kathryn Collins [Director], Johannes von Alvensleben, Martin Runciman and Michael Schaffer) and two Arrhythmia Coordinators. The interventional service includes an Ensite equipped biplane electrophysiology laboratory and separate Hybrid interventional room with a high volume of catheter ablations and cardiac implantable device procedures. The outpatient service averages >2000 arrhythmia specific visits and there is close collaboration with the adult congenital heart disease service and cardiovascular genetics. Additionally, a formal relationship with the adult electrophysiology program at the University of Colorado has been established.

The candidate's clinical duties will include invasive electrophysiology (catheter based and device implant), participation with inpatient and outpatient consultations, electrophysiology and pacemaker clinics, and participation in the training of

fellows, residents, and medical students. There will be extensive opportunities for translational and clinical research.

The Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado includes 51 pediatric cardiologists and four congenital cardiac surgeons. It is the largest pediatric heart center in the region, performing >680 surgeries in 2020 and is currently ranked #6 by USNWR. Children’s Hospital Colorado is consistently ranked as a top 10 pediatric program and provides the full breadth of pediatric subspecialty care.

The ideal candidate must be eligible for licensure in Colorado, be board certified (or eligible) in pediatric cardiology and have had advanced training in pediatric cardiac electrophysiology. Candidates will be considered at the Assistant Professor level.
