Defibrillators in Single Ventricle Patients (ISACHD Study)

Paces_Logo
Dear PACES Members,

Decisions regarding primary prevention strategies for patients with single ventricle anatomy are challenging. While the incidence of ventricular arrhythmias is relatively high in this group, competing causes of death are substantial. Clinical management recommendations remain limited in the absence of pragmatic evidence to support ICD implantation.

We have developed a multicenter observational, retrospective cohort study for patients with single ventricle anatomy implanted with an ICD to define current practices, identify ICD-related complications and determine clinical features associated with appropriate and inappropriate defibrillation therapies.

The study protocol has IRB approval at the primary site and has been approved by the PACES/ISACHD committee. Data entry will be conducted using REDCap. If you are interested in participating, please contact Paul Khairy (paul.khairy@umontreal.ca) or Victor Waldmann (victor.waldmann@inserm.fr) for more information. Sincerely,

Paul Khairy and Victor Waldmann
