Medical Director of Electrophysiology, Texas Childrens Hospital

Texas Children’s Hospital seeks to recruit the next Medical Director of Electrophysiology in the Division of Cardiology. The new Director will join the Heart Center leadership team and will report to the Chief of the Division of Cardiology.
Interested candidates should be at the level of Professor or Associate Professor, and have a distinguished record of excellence in clinical care, teaching and academic productivity in electrophysiology in pediatric and congenital heart disease. The Director will work with the Chief of Cardiology to develop and manage the overall strategic direction of the Pediatric Electrophysiology Program at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine.
Clinically, the Director will lead the Arrhythmia and Pacing Service at Texas Children’s Hospital. This service will be involved in the management and care of all inpatients with arrhythmias and pacemakers, and will staff outpatient clinics where the evaluation and management of these patients is carried out. This service also performs interventional electrophysiologic procedures, such as ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, as well as other testing. They will also be involved in the interpretation of hospital associated testing, including electrocardiograms, Holters, event monitors, and pacemaker evaluations.
In addition to outstanding clinical expertise, an understanding of clinical and research infrastructure and operations, as well as an ability to manage a financial and operating budget is desired.
Candidates must possess an MD degree. Requirements include 3 years of fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology and a 4th year of advanced training in Electrophysiology. The successful candidates must be Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
