The Department of Pediatrics at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, Northwell Health, is seeking a physician to join the rapidly growing Cohen Children’s Heart Center with a particular focus on pediatric electrophysiology. The ideal candidate would be BC/BE in Pediatric Cardiology and have spent additional time in a dedicated fourth-year pediatric EP fellowship. The Heart Center’s Director of Pediatric Electrophysiology, Dr Andrew Blaufox, has a reputation for excellence in clinical electrophysiology, mentorship, and research in the field. Under his leadership, the arrhythmia service performs a wide array of invasive and non-invasive procedures. The pediatric ep program works in conjunction with several multi-disciplinary teams including our cardiogenomics, ACHD, and CT surgical as well as the pediatric cardiology outpatient and inpatient services. These collaborations have led to continual expansion and adoption of state-of-the-art technologies. Our clinicians participate in the inpatient and outpatient clinical activities of the division, and details of these activities will be decided in partnership with the candidate. A strong interest in helping grow our programs and pursing research in the field of electrophysiology is desirable, as is a commitment to partner with multidisciplinary team members.

The Cohen Children’s Heart Center sits across the Department of Pediatrics of Northwell Health. Under the leadership of the System Chiefs of Pediatric Cardiology, Dr. Jeffrey Gossett, and Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr. David B. Meyer, the Heart Center functions as a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on clinical and academic excellence. The Heart Center is rapidly growing with dramatic increase in our clinical programs over the last few years including UNOS approval to begin heart transplantation and VAD implantations, and our soon to be constructed dedicated pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. The Cohen Children’s Heart Center provides more than 14,000 inpatient and outpatient visits annually. We are one of the highest volume programs in New York State, and the only children’s hospital in Long Island that offers comprehensive cardiac and cardiac surgical care from pregnancy through infancy, childhood, adolescence and adulthood for congenital heart disease. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology has a long and well-recognized tradition of providing exceptional cardiovascular care throughout the region.

The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the New York metropolitan region, with more than 13,000 admissions per year and a catchment area of over 8 million people.
