Reminder- Nominations Now Open - VP for Administration

Dear Fellow PACES Members,



It is time to start the election process for our new PACES Executive Committee Member.

In May we will appoint a new VP for Administration. The job description for this important position is shown below (per bylaws).



Vice President for Administration:
The Vice President for Administration shall perform all functions of the President in the absence or disability of the President. This officer will also have responsibility for Administration and will function as the Secretary of the Society. As such, the Vice President for Administration shall keep accurate and legible notes of the minutes of meetings, and shall maintain a ledger of motions affecting the Society. The minutes from all executive session meetings will be distributed to the PACES Executive session committee within 2 weeks of such meetings for approval. The Vice President for Administration shall see that role is taken at all meetings and shall sign in lieu of the President all legal documents and financial obligations authorized by the Society. The Vice President for Administration shall preside at the meetings in the absence of the President, maintain an accurate up-dated list of all officers, members of the Society, conduct correspondence as directed, read important correspondence at meetings, notify members of meetings, maintain the By-Laws and distribute Society mail. A current roster of the Society will be maintained by the Vice President for Administration. The Vice President for Administration will also chair the Advocacy Committee and oversee the website.




Timetable for Nominating and Voting:


  1. Submit nominations to Jeffrey Kim (jjkim@texaschildrens.org) before March 1.
  2. You can nominate someone else or you can nominate yourself.
  3. The Executive Committee will send out a vote on all nominees who agree to run. Voting will take place March 20 - 31. The top 3 candidates for the positions will then be asked to write a personal statement regarding the position and what they would like to see accomplished for that position.
  4. Voting on the top 3 candidates for each position will occur April 17 – 28. You must be a Paid PACES Member to be able to vote (if you are not a paid member, this is an opportunity to sign up).
  5. In the case of a tie, a run-off election will be held.
  6. The newly elected Executive committee members will be announced at the annual Business Meeting (date to be determined).
