The University of Montreal, Department of Pediatrics seeks a Pediatric Cardiologist specialized in Electrophysiology for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. The academic rank of this position is Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on existing qualifications.

About the Appointment:
 The Cardiology Division is in the Sainte-Justine University Health Center, the largest mother and child hospital in Canada.
 The candidate will be responsible for performing invasive and noninvasive electrophysiology evaluations and procedures as well as providing medical treatment for arrhythmias. This also includes implantation of devices (event monitors, pacemakers, defibrillators). The candidate will serve as the treating physician for pediatric patients with arrhythmias as well as consultant in arrhythmias for in patients as well as patients referred from colleagues.
 There is a dedicated pediatric cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art biplane fluoroscopy and 3D electroanatomic mapping capability.
 The potential opportunity exists to interface with a busy adult electrophysiology service with intense research and clinical activity (Montreal Heart Institute).
 The candidate will also participate in general pediatric cardiology inpatient attending activities and outpatient clinics.
 The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team that includes 11 pediatric cardiologists.
 Additional responsibilities will include: participation in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participation in division activities on behalf of the department, the medical school, and the profession.
 The successful candidate will participate in research projects and other academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidate's career interests and goals. Percentage of time in clinical activities, research, administration or education will be determined according to candidate’s background and career goals.
 Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate’s area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research.
 The candidate must have good skills in French language and proven leadership in working with multiple providers and teams, academic interests and a strong commitment to education and clinical care.
 The income is based on fee for service with a practice plan where all members of the divisions share equally. 2 Sainte-Justine is a tertiary-quaternary mother-child center with complete cardiology and cardiac surgery divisions, as well as obstetrical, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. The Cardiology Division provides a complete clinical approach from the fetus to the adolescent including a heart transplantation program.
